Review: BEHAVE ENERGY CONFERENCE 2014

The Behave conference 2014 – "Paradigm shift: From energy efficiency to energy reduction through social change” focused on achieving energy efficiency by initiating social behavioural change.
 
Magdalena Boork (SP), as part of the S3C consortium, presented a paper titled "Key success factors and barriers to end user engagement in smart grid projects” in the session on interventions and evaluating behaviour change. The paper details the key challenges, success factors and barriers for actively engaging end users in smart grid projects that were identified in the framework of S3C through analysing the various approaches of 32 partner projects.

The conference was organised by Energy Saving Trust and the UK Energy Research Centre and aimed at bringing together people form the public and private sector with a background in energy efficiency. At the conference, recent research, innovative technological development and best practice examples for understanding and changing end user behaviour were discussed.
